Crewe Alex: Vital statistics

Tuesday, March 24, 2009, 09:00

All the facts and figures ahead of Crewe Alexandra's League One match against MK Dons at Stadium:MK

PREVIOUS MEETING

October 18, 2008

CREWE ALEX 2  (O'Hanlon og 32, Miller 43)

MK DONS 2  (Baldock 15, Chadwick 79)

LUKE Chadwick's late strike denied Steve Holland a win as protests against his reign emerged.

Sam Baldock left Crewe trailing early on and the response was erratic, with Michael O'Connor and Calvin Zola blasting good chances over.

The mood among the home faithful turned ugly even though MK defender Sean O'Hanlon turned Mark Carrington's cross past his own keeper for an equaliser.

Shaun Miller drilled home the second to put the Alex in front just before the break.

But Holland's side couldn't preserve the advantage, although Chadwick looked suspiciously offside when his deflected finish flew past Steve Collis at the near post with 11 minutes left.

Crewe: Collis, Woodards, Jones, Baudet, Lawrence, Carrington, O'Connor, Bailey, Miller, Zola (Pope, 84), Donaldson (Moore, 84). Subs: Schumacher, Grant, Brayford.

MK Dons: Gueret, Cummings, O'Hanlon, Llera (Stirling, 60), Lewington, Wright (Johnson, 72), Navarro, Leven, Chadwick, Gerba (Gallen, 71), Baldock. Subs: Abbey, Regan.

WHO WE'D LIKE TO SIGN

EX-Stockport striker Aaron Wilbraham appears well settled these days at Stadium:MK and leads the Dons' scoring chart.

WHO TO BOO

LUKE Chadwick nipped a Crewe victory in the bud with his late leveller at the Alexandra Stadium back in October and also has a stint at Stoke to darken his CV.

MAN IN THE MIDDLE

ISLE of Wight official James Linington will be taking charge of a Crewe game for the first time.

PROBABLE TEAMS

MK Dons: Gueret, Cummings, Lewington, Llera, O'Hanlon, Navarro, Chadwick, Leven, Puncheon, Johnson, Wilbraham.

Crewe: Ruddy, Brayford, Baudet, Broomes, O'Donnell, Sheehan, Sirgurdsson, Woodards, Moore, Pope, Donaldson.

PREDICTION

ARGUABLY, this is not as difficult a game for Crewe as it was back in February, when it fell victim to the weather.

Nevertheless, Roberto Di Matteo's side are strong at home and may have enough to see off an Alex side hit by injury, suspension and international call-ups – 2-1 to the Dons.
